Can you water my plot when I’m away?
Sorry, we are not able to find someone to water your plot while you’re away. We recommend the following options:
- Ask your plot neighbors.
- Post a sign on your plot stating the dates you will be gone.
- Find a friend in Pitt Meadows to do it.
- Ask on the PMCG Members Facebook group for a volunteer.
When do I have to work my plot by?
If your plot is not worked by May 1st, it will be assigned to somebody on the waitlist (no exceptions).
What should I do for my garden maintenance and improvement hours?
There are lots of things you can do. For example, watering common areas (not your own, or your friend’s plot!), cleaning and tidying, weeding, working on the food bank plot, planning social events, committee work, etc. Talk to Peter for specific ideas, or join a work party.
How can I donate to the food bank?
If you have an excess that you wish to donate from your garden, please drop it off under the Gazebo on either Monday or Tuesday evenings in the totes. We will drop the food off at the food bank before 8 am every Tuesday and Wednesday.
Where can I put my trash?
The garden does not have a place to put trash. Please bring it home to dispose of.
Where can I put compostable things?
There is a compost area on the south side of the garden, beyond the fence (near the bees). Please toss your compostables as far back from the gate as possible. Then, shut the gate on your way out.
